Our story

Our story doesn’t begin in a design studio, but in the dense forests, remote villages, and vibrant ecosystems where we’ve spent our careers. As field biologists and conservationists, we are continually in awe of the beauty and vastness of nature. Through our experience, we have also realised that it is imperative to conserve and coexist with all the elements of nature for our own survival.

Our work has made us see what often remains unspoken. We saw the gap between critical scientific data and the people's heart. We saw how the wisdom of indigenous traditions was fading, and how the deep connections between nature, mindfulness, and our own well-being were being forgotten.

This is where our shared passion for fine arts became our purpose. We founded Sachitra on a single, powerful conviction: that art is the universal language that can bridge these gaps. It can translate the inexpressible wonder of an ecosystem, the urgency of a research paper, and the quiet wisdom of a traditional story into a form that everyone can see, feel, and understand.

Rooted in Sanskrit, Sachitra signifies something that is “vividly illustrated” or “brought to life in images.” For us, it captures the essence of what we do, bringing science, conservation, and human stories to life through art. It reflects our conviction that knowledge is most powerful when it is not only understood, but also experienced and remembered. Through Sachitra, we want to make complex ideas accessible, meaningful, and enduring, much like an image that stays with you long after you’ve seen it. It also reflects our core belief that art and knowledge spring from the same creative source, and that both are essential in reminding us of the interconnectedness of all life. Just as humans are a part of nature, not above it, Sachitra embodies the union of science and art in service of conservation and collective well-being.
